Lisa Bettinger-Buckingham is the former Chief People, Place & Brand Officer (Emeritus) of Lincoln Financial Group, where she played a key role in shaping the company’s people strategy, brand identity, and enterprise operations. Serving from December 2008 until her retirement in March 2021, she led a wide range of functions including human resources, brand and advertising, corporate communications, consumer insights, and corporate social responsibility.
As a member of Lincoln’s Senior Management Committee, Buckingham also oversaw business continuity planning, enterprise crisis management, strategic real estate, aviation, and facilities. She reported directly to the CEO and was instrumental in guiding the company through transformative initiatives that strengthened both culture and operational resilience.
Before joining Lincoln, Buckingham held senior HR and organizational development roles at Thomson Reuters, where she led efforts during the company’s shift from print to digital and drove global efficiencies through offshoring and technology adoption. She began her career in retail, building a strong foundation in labor relations and people operations.
Buckingham holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Her professional focus areas include board governance, organizational development, total rewards, diversity and inclusion, digital transformation, change management, talent strategy, culture building, wellness, employee engagement, and brand leadership.
